Bug Description
It is not clear which permissions are displayed when several files are selected. What sould it be?
Options (thanks, Shnatsel!, and forgive me if I get something wrong) are:
- Don't show nothing at all or give some message ("several elements selected, we can't display permissions.").
- Display the "lowest common denominator".
- Change the buttons currently used to allow for more states, sort of "write prohibited for all elements" and the like.
- Group files by permission combinations (such as 755 or 644), although this could be a problem with many files.
Don't forget there's a filed bug about changing the label on permissions when the selected file is a directory (bug #1124209), so that has to be considered also: what should we do when selecting files and folders?
