Bug Description
This is what I did:
1. Take 2 removable media (SD cards in my case)
2. Format them both in Disk Utility (MBR, FAT), and give them the same label.
3. Put some music on one of the media, and safely remove it.
4. Pull it out, and insert the other medium which was formatted with the same settings and label.
5. Open it in Pantheon Files. Although the medium is still empty, it will show the contents of the other medium.
Temporary solution: killall pantheon-files
Another scenario where this happens:
1. Connect an external storage medium with some files on it.
2. Go to Disk Utility, unmount, and format the medium.
3. Mount the medium from Disk Utility.
4. Open the medium in Pantheon Files. Although the medium is empty, the files that were previously on it will still be shown.

Sounds like the directory cache isn't cleared when a volume is unmounted.
