Bug Description
The new release of MAC OS implemented a tagging feature into their file manager.
I think Pantheon files should have something similar i know that Zeitgeist can tag automatically.
But on what is this automated tag feature based ? I suppose on dates for example.
Custom tags would be useful too like sports, events, people etc.
According to this video custom tags are possible with Zeitgeist.

This tagging feature could be used system-wide because it could be useful to other apps such as Shotwell.

Maybe tracker is just what elementary needs. You can tag information and share the metadata with other apps. /wiki.gnome. org/Projects/ Tracker/ Features
