Bug Description

It would be great to have an auto-mount drive/partition option in Files. For example, if I right click the partition, there should be a checkbox that turns this on or off.

What does this have to do with Gala? I assume this is about Pantheon Files, the *file* manager.

Idea: Show a notification when plugging in drive. Since now notifications are clickable, if the user clicks on the notification, it should automount the drive and open it in files. Otherwise keep it unmounted.

I was impressed with this OS, until I inserted a USB stick.
The inability to auto mount is an issue for me.
On other linuxes, if you right click on the icon on the desktop, you can get properties for the usb drive.
This issue may be enough to have me return to linux mint.

Sorry.

In elementaryos, FIles does not manage the desktop so is not necessarily running when you insert a drive.

After some discussion it has been decided not to use Files to fix this.
