places column doubles its size every time files is restarted

Bug Description

The left column which shows the places (Computer, Downloads, Documents, etc.) keeps doubling its width every time I start the program.

No. I'm not using the Beta version. Does that really make a difference even though I keep my computer up-to-date? Actually I've just updated the system and it installed a new version of pantheon-files which is (pantheon-files 0.1-0~r1020+pkg10~precise1) and the problem still persists.
