Bug Description

1.8.0: After packing my game into a p3d, sound only plays from the left speaker on Windows with OpenAL. Same goes for the all-in-one installer version (of course).

It's fine on Linux on OS X, apparently.

Someone who got the same problem on the forum solved it by using FMOD, but that is not an option for me. Is there some way to work around this for the time being?

Looking further into this, it seems the libpanda3d_openal.dll (or what's it called) provided on the server is older/smaller than the one that ships with the current 1.8.0 SDK. I have no idea to do that patch locally, my guess is that the server package must be updated and it will be fine.

Even looking further, it seems other developers have had similar problems with their packages, I'm listing references just for clarity: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=24451.0 and http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498&aid=30232&group_id=9

Is the issue still present with 1.8.1?

Marking as "Won't Fix" due to the runtime no longer being supported.
