Bug Description

i'm using Ubuntu 9.04 on an 32 bit 901 eeePC (intel gfx) on xfce using the official deb from the site (1.7.0)

if click a script to run it, or run the script from the terminal the newly created main window is always obscured by that window (either the terminal or thunar)

there are some sound error messages (using oss4.0 which works!) however the new text on the console doesn't seem to be the issue as python test.py > /dev/null 2>&1 made no difference

other than the alsa warning I only see
chris@chris-eeepc:~/dev/panda3d-1.7.0/samples/Texture-Swapping$ python Tut-Texture-Swapping-II.py
DirectStart: Starting the game.
Known pipe types:
  glxGraphicsPipe
(all display modules loaded.)

I wont include and demo code for the bug as all the samples behave in this way...

the panda3d team are to be congratulated as panda3d works nicely while Ubuntu still seem to be unable to get texturing working with pyopengl module on intel gfx chips (even with a work round to prevent a seg fault....)

Can anyone actually reproduce this today? This report is almost six years old and things have changed a lot in that time (Panda, Linux kernel, Intel drivers, etc.).

For what it's worth, I never had any issues with Linux using GNOME 3 / X11. I am not an XFCE user though.
