The test case includes a .jpg file, but the Python file references a .png file. The code works perfectly when I change it to reference the .jpg file.

Since I can't reproduce the crash, is there more information you can share? Like the full console output?

My mistake on the jpg/png. I was trying a different file type to see if that had any effect, it did not.

This is printed to the console:

------------------------------------------------
DirectStart: Starting the game.
Known pipe types:
  wglGraphicsPipe
(all display modules loaded.)

Process completed, Exit Code -1073741819.
Execution time: 00:14.462

And this is in the dialog that pops up:

It would appear that the crash is happening in your graphics drivers. Can you attempt to upgrade your drivers?

Without further information about the GPU (as obtained from the output of "notify-level-glgsg debug") or an ability to reproduce the bug there's not much further we can do, so I'm setting this bug to expire if there is no further activity on this bug.
