Bug Description

note that you can't actually switch cameras on the web page, but if you change the browser default camera in the privacy settings of the browser you can choose the rear or front camera.

In portrait mode the front camera image is inverted. Rotating the phone 90 anticlockwise it is the correct way up, rotating 90 clockwise it is inverted again.

For the rear camera it is the correct way up in portrait mode, it is correct when rotated 90 anticlockwise, but inverted when rotated 90 clockwise. Portrait upside down doesn't rotate the web page and seems logical enough.

related to Bug #1535820 I expect, but this isn't an edge case, with an odd orientation the front camera is upside down for the basic portrait video-calling/selfie scenario.

And #1535818 is the other side of it, explaining why the example above doesn't let you switch between cameras.

yeah, mentioning the workaround for the switching cameras bug was just a note for anyone trying to reproduce the inverted front camera problem. I don't think the two are related in any technical way.

This was fixed in oxide 1.15, which isn’t in OTA-11. It will be in OTA-12.
