The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding ubuntu-system-settings-online-accounts. Nothing has been changed in USSOA as far as webview interactions are concerned, recently. So I suspect this has been caused by some changes in oxide itself.

I've reproduced this now on shutdown when closing pages that have an unload handler (where WebContents and the associated ScriptMessageContentsHelper outlive the WebView)
