The main issue is that we get the Flash version on Youtube, whereas the embedded version goes through http://
Another explanation is that the iFrame the contains the embedded video gets a different user agent string, thought that type of bug should have been fixed with Oxide.

The rendering of youtube videos has been updated with the latest oxide builds. In particular, the browser better declares the list of embedded codecs.
So please try again with your favorite video and report if the situation has improved.
Certain Youtube videos are not available in a format / encoding compatible with the HTML5 video standard, typically FLV videos which are only compatible with FlashPlayer on the desktop.

I don’t think the warning about "target-densitydpi" not being supported has anything to do with actual video playback.
I can’t observe playback issues on RTM #20 either, neither with the video linked to in the description, nor with the one linked to in comment #8.
@Pat: do we have more detailed information on what the BQ user is seeing?
| Buzea Bogdan (bogdanke8) wrote : | #10 |
I am the user with BQ with update 20. I tried the links in the descriptions, it is like some have said: first link does work, the second dont. I attached a photo with what I see on the phone. Please ask me anything you need for solving ths bug. Its very annoing, because I can not see any youtube video.

FYI
I am not experiencing this issue anymore.
I am on vivid devel-proposed r164

Thanks for the additional information. From the screenshot I see that you’re on a 3G data connection. Does it make any difference if you connect to a WIFI access point, by any chance?
| Buzea Bogdan (bogdanke8) wrote : | #13 |
Yeah, you are very smart. With wifi it works. With 3G dont. I attach another screenshot

Right, so this would be a duplicate of bug #1437485. I’m marking it as such, please subscribe to the other bug to be notified of updates.

Can you indicate whether that's on phone or desktop and with which version of webbrowser-app?
