Bug Description

Eclipse doesn't get overlay Scroll Bar hover for horizontal or vertical scroll bars on Internal Code Window, the orange positions are shown correctly but there is no way to make it display the hover scrollbar (mouse wheel works for vertical only).

Selecting text, or pressing the Home/End/Arrow keys is the only way to position the horizontal code position.

A workaround is to edit /usr/bin/eclipse and remove or comment out this line:
export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true

I don't have this issue with my Eclipse (Indigo). Could you report which version of Eclipse are you running?

Hi

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 64 Bit. I suffer from this issue where the overlay scrollbars appear in eclipse however it doesn't get the scrollbar hover.

To resolve this issue I used the workaround submitted by Ian in comment 1.

After using the workaround the overlay scrollbars work perfectly :)

My version of Eclipse is as follows:
eclipse-platform:
  Installed: 3.7.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.7.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.7.0-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Which is reported as 'Indigo' upon startup.

Hope this helps.

Andy
