docs fail to build w/ sphinx 1.1.3 on Fedora

Using the default upstream release tarball I'm seeing doc build failures with this package:

Running Sphinx v1.1.3

Exception occurred:
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/fileinput.py", line 322, in readline
    os.rename(self._filename, self._backupfilename)
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory
The full traceback has been saved in /tmp/sphinx-err-OBnbno.log, if you want to report the issue to the developers.
Please also report this if it was a user error, so that a better error message can be provided next time.
