2021-08-22 12:20:35 | Takashi Kajinami | description | The python-memcached library[1] has net updated since 2017, and has reports mentioning the project is dead. There was a discussion to move the prolect to a different maintainer but there are no progress made. It was mentioned that pymemcache would be a better replacement of python-memcached. [1] https://github.com/linsomniac/python-memcached [2] https://github.com/linsomniac/python-memcached/issues/95 [3] https://github.com/linsomniac/python-memcached/issues/177 IMO it's better to consider any alternative solution instead of relying on the dead project. One option is to just deprecate oslo_cache.memcache_pool and use only the implementation from dogpile. | The python-memcached library[1] has not updated since 2017.
