Unhandled exception when trying to add a route

I downloaded both the Demo 1 and the Zig Zag route. When I browse from "browse for folder" and select the file of either route and click the "OK" button I immediately the a popup the says "Options
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application.If you click Continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I click on continue and the exception popup goes away but nothing is put into the path.
I get the same error on both routes.

I have uninstalled then re-downloaded and re-installed both the Open Rails software and the route downloads.

Could not find a log file but the two route folders I'm trying to select are "DemoModle1" and "Open Rails Tran Simulator - ZZ that was created when executing "zig_zag_railway_v1_2.exe"
