Bug Description

With some models the pantograph does not work correctly. When pressing "P" the pantograph does not raise when the locomotive is stationary, instead when beginning to move both pantographs on the locomotive begin to raise and lower themselves quickly. The more speed the locomotive picks up the quicker the pantographs raise and lower themselves. I assume this is a bug since this does not occur in the Development Release 0.8.0.1251 and neither does it in previous versions.

It also affects me, using a Romanian railways loco.
You can get the model here: http://www.train-sim.ro/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_details&gid=399&Itemid=32

Using the Romanian loco I have made a small pre-check to reduce work for the developers wanting to remove the malfunction. The problem has arisen in release x1457.

This loco has the main body animated (I am not sure how as I cannot uncompress the .s file), thus OR put it into the running gear. As pantos are all children of the main body, they are all treated as running gears in OR, thus their animation is tied to the speed of wheel rotation.

So the question is: should the part with hierarchy value -1 (i.e. the main body) be animated at all?

Hi JiJun,
attached you have the uncompressed .s file.

Thanks Carlo. This loco has the main body animated with two key frames, but both frames have the same location and rotation. I assume it is a mistake in the modeling.

The easiest fix is of course not add main body into running gears (tested and confirmed). However, I am a bit worried that this may affect other models, as I know there is something called freight animation (never used) that may use main body animation.

Hi JiJun, I do not know if it is really a mistake in the modeling as this occurs with another model as well. Maybe if I attach a log file it might help. The thing is that these models run properly in MSTS and it would be nice if they will come to run in OR just like they run in MSTS. Besides, they used to run as expected in OR as well so is there any chance that this might get fixed in the future?
