Shutdown hangs on "Unmounting NCP filesystems"

Hello

We are using ncpfs to mount novell netware volumes in our linux systems.

ncpmount is used to mount and all is ok.
ncpumount is used to umount without problems but...

if cable network is disconnected or server is not available during ncpumount process this command hangs

Due to this, if you shutdown your system with no network (several causes), shutdown process hangs

ncpumount command should implement some kind of timeout

One more addition:
There is no error if I mount the ncpfs-Volumes, copy some files quickly, and then umount the volume immidiately. If I leave the volume mounted and shutdown my machine after some hours umount does not work any more saying the resource was busy (which is not the case and I cannot override that with --force)

To me it seems as if there is an unknown time after which the ncpmount hangs making it impossible to umount or access files any more.

The Bug persists in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin - very annoying. Isn't there at least a workaround?

This bug is affecting me a also.
Only "workaround" is restarting the server.

ncpmount works flawlessly.

Leave it running for a couple hours and reboots/ncpunmounts don't work.,,,
