Bug Description

I'm the only one user of the computer and, thus, the administrator, but the aplication keeps telling me it's not possible to save the subtitle files to the destination folder [e.g. Desktop]. I tried many options 'till realized it would only work with "C:\".

What version are you using - standalone or installer? What OS are you using? Please provide more info as this seems like OS related problem.

I have the same problem on Windows 8 x64, and I checked the security settings of every file in the program directory, and set them to full control as an experiment, with no resolution though I did notice that the MSVCR71.dll package is depreciated on Windows 8.

I just notice this recently when I trying to save a subtitle to %userprofile%\downloads.

No matter where I try to save, the program says that it don't have write permissions to the folder.

It seems that the programs is replacing slashes to backslashes, trying to save in "c:/users/username\downloads", instead of "c:\users\username\downloads".

Strangely I have no problems to save in other partitions or external units.

Can't save to any folder inside %userprofile%, looks like its something related to this enviroment variable.

I'm using the installer version, running windows 8 x64.

Another issue, the program have no permissions to write the log file to program folder unless it's running as administrator.

As a workaround I changed write permissions of opensubdownloader.log to all users.

Better of if logs are written in userprofile or %appdata% folder
