Bug Description
Seems there is slight, but possibly important mismatch
On https:/
section only difference listed between Community vs Foundation Membership
is about voting in elections.
As I've just received email "OpenStack Foundation notice: your Foundation Membership will end in 30 days." due to not voting enough ... I've noticed in that email it is also described as mostly different in just voting, though quite vague about any other priv. change:
"However, you will not have all of the rights and responsibilities of being a full Foundation Member, including voting in future Board of Directors elections."
Based on that I went to check if indeed I can be changing the membership in my profile page (as mentioned on that /join page) -> https:/
But there is written:
"If you select this option, you will be revoking your right to vote in elections and to commit code to OpenStack via Gerrit. Additionally, any administrative rights to the Marketplace Admin or Company Admin will be revoked."
Notice unlike other sources mentioned above here is written "revoking ... commit code to OpenStack via Gerrit".
Which is imo big difference to just "allowed&required to vote in board elections" and I believe it should be clarified (fixed on this downgrade2community page or mentioned in both /join and notice email).
Pavel,
Apologies for the delayed response. Individuals are required to sign an ICLA in order to contribute code. The only way to do this is by signing up as a Foundation Member. We have now updated the info on this page https:/ /www.openstack. org/join/ to reflect the information regarding commits via Gerrit.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
