Bug Description
On this page: http://
The OpenStack storage page currently mentions only Block and Object storage. Now that Shared File System storage is part of OpenStack, it should be mentioned as a third option.
I've written the following text, which is accurate (I'm the Manila PTL) and comparable to the existing language on that page. I think it should be added below Block Storage.
Shared File System Storage Capabilities
* OpenStack provides persistent shared file system storage for use with multiple OpenStack compute instances simultaneously.
* The shared file system storage project manages the creation and exporting of shared filesystems to allow secure sharing of files within the cloud user's network.
* Shared file systems are fully integrated into the OpenStack Dashboard allowing for cloud users to manage their own storage needs.
* In addition to a generic implementation built on top of OpenStack Compute and OpenStack Block Storage, it has unified storage support for numerous storage platforms including NetApp, EMC, HP, GlusterFS, and GPFS.
* Shared file system storage is appropriate for data accessed by multiple VMs and for applications traditionally built on NAS storage, such as databases and other NFS-based applications.
* Snapshot management provides powerful functionality for backing up data stored on shared file systems. Snapshots can be restored or used to create a new shared file systems.
