The number of contributors for the Kilo release published in the press release (https://www.openstack.org/software/kilo/) is probably wrong. At least I found my own name (Christian Berendt) three times in the listing published in the press release. There are more duplicates, for example Andreas Jaeger appears two times, Andrey Pavlov appears two times. Please double check the list, remove duplicates and validate the published number (1,492).

and the list of names is about 100 more than the posted number

I believe "your name" is a perfectly valid nickname if that's been chosen by the person signing up on gerrit :) Li\ and li\ might be different people, who knows. We'll clean up manually the list.

One thing to keep in mind is that such list can never be considered a perfect representation of the names of the actual people who contributed to the release. There is no way to perfectly match 1-1 the physical identity of a person to one or more online accounts. People register more than once with multiple identies and some other people have identical names with different email addresses. It's extremely hard and time consuming to reconcile things, and a percentage of errors will always be there.

As for the 100 names more in the list than 1,503 stat mentioned, it should be 1593 as stated on Activity Board: http://activity.openstack.org/dash/browser/?release=kilo

These are updated and in production, along with updated stats. I had to take a best guess at which of the duplicates were the right duplicates since they all had some slight difference in capitalization or additional characters (e.g. "-").
