I believe updates to the OpenStack docs related to the Puppet deployment tool are incoming with https://review.openstack.org/#change,5854. Are you saying that these docs should not be accepted? Please comment on the doc review.

What I mean is:
a. This tool is meant for deploying Openstack diablo version and so it may not be included in Essex guide.
b. The dodai-deploy repo does seem to be regularly maintained, so it might not be a good idea to include this tool.

But as I see the doc updates are coming, so they might be taking care of the codebase too.

Dodai-deploy's README file has been updated:

[2012/05/16] hadoop can be installed on ubuntu 12.04.
[2012/04/13] Add supports for Openstack Essex. Please refer the following blog for how-to.

and the openstack docs seem to reflect this too. Marking as fix released.
