Swift Configuration Limits

The documentation does not adequately discuss value limits or restrictions for configuration parameters.

For example.....

In "3.3. Configuring OpenStack Object Storage" and other places where it is mentioned, "swift_hash_path_suffix" in swift.conf .... is there a minimum/maximum length ? are there restrictions on characters that can be used ? does it have to start with a letter, or can it start with a number ?

Similarly, under 4.4 "Server Configuration Reference", no restrictions or upper/lower limits are mentioned or discussed for any of the parameters ?

Maybe just add "this is a Python string" for the suffix. The rest is tuning. I think it's Invalid bug, but I'll let docs people to make the final determination.

Tunables that are important to know are discussed elsewhere, e.g. the partition shift, replication counts. Maybe needs a reference to whitepaper.

As this wishlist bug is over two years old and no progress has been made towards its completion, according to our bug triage rules we should close it to de-clutter bug lists. I'm sorry we couldn't find the resources to solve this one :(
