Mismatch of future naming of Tenants vs. Projects?

On this web site, there is a note that says,

"Earlier versions of OpenStack used the term project instead of tenant. Because of this legacy terminology, some command-line tools use --project_id where you would normally expect to enter a tenant ID."

But on this API v3 reference site, it indicates the use of projects going forward:

As someone new to OpenStack this was a bit confusing. Could the first page be reviewed to see if the info is still accurate in context? Thanks!

    Replaced the term "tenant" with "project"

    This patch avoids the mismatch between the legacy term tenant and
    the future term project by replacing the term tenant with project.

    This is a partial fix and the further patches will completely
    remove the term "tenant" from the documentation to avoid any kind
    of confusion.
