Bug Description

whenever I navigate to a page wth the left hand navigation panel, it brings me to the right page in the main panel,
but the navigation panel jumps back to the top.
which makes it a fairly useless navigation panel.

perhaps this is a problem my version of firefox (v 26.0) / on linux (opensuse 13.1, fully patched and uptodate).

I thought it right to just let you know.

Sorry, I don't understand your problem. On my openSUSE 13.1 system this works as expected for me.

Could you give a step by step instruction on how to reproduce, e.g.:
1. Go to URL
2. click on link
3. this happens (attach screenshot )

Changed in openstack-manuals:
status: New → Incomplete

Hi andreas.

its a little subtle.

if you work your way down the documentation, as I was doing, one expands
the navigation panel.

so, if it becomes to large to fit in to the navigation panel ( starting
from chapter 9 networking, for example,

you get this, as visible in the pictures :

before you click on a subject in chapter 9,
see beforeclickon9.jpg
after you click on 9 and get the page requested in chapter 9,
see afterclickon9.jpg

as you can see if you slide down the navigation panel to make your
chapter visible, the index still has the chapter/paragraph you were at
marked as current,
but because it redraws and goes to page 1 again, you have to slide down
every time you want to click somewhere in the neighbourhood of where you
actual are interested in. (somewhere in chapter 9, in this case)

hope this made it a little clearer.

regards

Rens

I have seen this behavior on Chrome 32.0.1700.107 on Mac 10.9.

We also have it reported often as an annoyance on Rackspace output.

I'd like the navigation to be replaced soon, perhaps by not outputting webhelp and outputting something else.

left navigation will reload when it is clicked, which seems not necessary, this problem is found both in chrome and firefox on ubuntu release
