Validation emails not being sent

I have attempted to signup to https://ask.openstack.org using Lauchpad, google + Yahoo and in each case I get to the screen that says :

"Validation email sent. Please find it and follow the enclosed link.
If the link doesn't work - enter the code below:"

Despite testing with multiple accounts (Lauchpad, google + Yahoo) each time no validation email is received. I have checked also that its not in the Spam folders for each related account.

It looks like some messages are sent from <email address hidden> and those are delivered fine, but others are being sent from <email address hidden> and rejected by the local MTA because there is no "openstack" account on the server. Ideally we should figure out how to configure it to use one consistent E-mail address, and pick something which makes sense as a from address rather than just arbitrary usernames at the server's FQDN.

Reviewing some packet captures, I see E-mail messages with an envelope sender and from header of <email address hidden> that are getting delivered fine. It's just the messages being sent as <email address hidden> which aren't making it out.

So what is the decision, <email address hidden> will be the sender of those emails?

Setting for the admin email here is the one (accessible online via admin account)

Also, there are several email settings in the settings.py file.
Please check all values in that file ending with _EMAIL.

Other items that might help improve email deliverability:
domain name in the mail server setup
reverse DNS
SPF and DKIM entries in the DNS

Hi, I still have the same problem. Have tried with Launchpad and OpenID accounts, and the validation email is never sent.

I've tested this in the development version, works there, so hopefully will be fixed aftter the upgrade.

Hi guys. I found I cannot login https://ask.openstack.org. I've tried to use google+, launchpad, and OpenID (provided by launchpad, openstack community). I cannot receive the validation email, neither in my mailbox nor spam mailbox

Looks like this problem is still persistent. I also do not receive an email, regardless of platform used to authenticate.
