Thank you for the report, Dheeru. I cannot replicate the bug: see the screenshot attached, I see that the answer is attributed to you. Can you please attach a screenshot of what you see? Also, please add details about the web browsers you're using, if you have tried more than one.

just go to ask.openstack.org. look for the same question. It does not show
my name. It still shows "Anonymous"

Can you please attach a screenshot to the bug or send the screenshot to my email? I see you as author of the response and me as the author of the update. Which web browser are you using? did you clean the cache? Tried a different browser?

Hi Stefano

Now the question author is change from "Anonymou" to "Govardhan". It will
display my name. Take any question is posted as Anonymous. Just go to "
ask.openstack.org". Next to the ans you have "Votes", "Ans" and "Views".
Below that it displays who answered the question. If the question is asked
by anonymous, and answered right user, it still displays that answered by
"Anonymous". In the enclosed screen look at the "Porting Plugins to
quantum" question. It is answered by right user. But still it shows as
"Anonymous". THis is answered by "Prasoon". So it should show "Prasoon"
name.

Hope it is clear

The fact that the identity of the person asking has changed is strange. I'll investigate that separately.

I'm afraid I can't really understand what you're experiencing regarding the person answering questions asked by Anonymous. I have looked at other questions asked by 'Anonymous' and the answers are all being attributed to a specific person. I tried with Firefox authenticated, Firefox as non logged in user, Chromium in both configurations, too and all tests show answers attributed to real users.

For example:
https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/10274/best-practice-to-achieve-high-availability-and-scalability-for-neutron/
https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/11482/keystone-service-authorization-failed/
https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/2531/porting-plugins-to-quantum/
https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/11232/can-you-execute-a-program-on-the-guest-os-via-openstack-api/

Unfortunately if you can't take and attach a screenshot we won't make much progress on this bug. I can provide you instructions on how to take a screenshot: which operating system are you using to browse ask.openstack.org?

Thanks I understand now too. There indeed is an issue in the code, where "anon" is shown regardless of who was the latest editor on the questions that were asked anonymously.

I don't think the issues are the same. This is about the information displayed on the home page, ask.openstack.org. Look at the screenshot submitted by dheeru, I think the confusion comes from the text below the boxes with info about the questions (votes, views, etc) which shows things like: "29 mins ago bo-zhang".

I think dheeru expects the details to be about the person *asking* the question while instead that line seems to show latest generic action on the question, being it an edit, a comment or an answer. Does that make sense?
