As part of the core team, I would agree. We have been working down that road to get access to Supermarket. Unfortunately, it seems that the user we wanted to use is already registered, but unused, thus we're working with Chef to gain access. This way, we can publish cookbooks as 'openstack', and not 'openstack1' or 'chef-openstack', etc.

When we are in a position to begin publishing cookbooks to Supermarket, we'll definitely send out messages making it known. Stay tuned to the openstack-dev ML, as there will be an announcement there.
