Thanks you for your bug report. Unfortunately, there's not enough information to go on. OpenStack systems are complex, so to even begin to understand what the issue is we need to know:

1. Version of Ubuntu
2. Version of Openstack
3. openstack-bundle / configuration used to deploy the system
4. logs from the affected services (nova, cinder)

Changed in openstack-bundles:
status: New → Incomplete

@Mario, thanks for reporting! I'm looking into it now. It's not intuitive I know but next time you should set the bug back to New when you reply (after we have set it to Incomplete waiting for more info), otherwise we may just miss your reply, thanks!

@Mario, did you adapt the osd-devices value [0] in the bundle to the machines you're deploying on?

Could it be that on one of your 3 machines where ceph-osd is running, this partition is full? Thanks! (As explained, setting to Incomplete, please set back to New when answering)

@Aurelien thanks I didn't know I had to set the bug to new, I will do it from now on.

I dindt change the osd-devices configuration I used the default configuration and added an other ceph unit (130TB) after deployment with:

juju add-unit ceph-osd
juju run-action --wait ceph-osd/3 add-disk osd-devices=/dev/sdc.

the space available in each unit is

I recently updated to openstack base #75, and this affects me specifically when creating a volume from an image, e.g. creating a volume from the Ubuntu focal cloud image.

The message "schedule allocate volume:Could not find any available weighted backend. "

I can however create normal volumes and they work fine.

I can create a volume from image on openstack base #70 and #73.

I have tried fresh & clean deploys with focal multiple times and have adapted osd-devices. I can replicate the issue.
