Bug Description

This company sells video capture cards that support v4l2 (video4linux 2) with free software drivers (GPL'd) and h.264 encoding: http://store.bluecherry.net/categories/Capture-Cards/Video4Linux-supported/

but there is still no user-friendly way to record vidio from these cards!

Hi danny,

Difficult to give you an answer on a specific hardware in the actual situation.

You have one if so which ?

What give you your system like information about her ? (dmesg, lsmod,...)

On Openshot the support of V4l2 is considered but globally, not for a specific hardware.
See this bug report : https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot/+bug/510705
So I'm wondering me if it is the same bug report in this description.

For this product, Bluecherry seems to have developed their own application available for Ubuntu (http://www.bluecherrydvr.com/) that you should try.
