Hi,
Same situation. Impossible to export in Dvd. The process seems never finished same if the popup informing the opposite is displayed. No message in a console.

I'd like to precise that was working great on Natty with the same version of Openshot (1.4.1) and MLT (0.7.4-3). Just the upgrade have been done and nothing else.

Are the ffmpeg versions different between 11.04 & 11.10? I would guess that it is a ffmpeg problem.

Kinda cool. Good point. :-)

Effectively, there are different. It is the 0.6.2 for Natty et it is the
0.7.2 for Oneiric.
The new question is that for Oneiric if it is working with the 0.8.0
version of FFmpeg. When it is a new installation, it is the 0.8.0 which is
installed and when it is an upgrade it is the 0.7.2 which is installed.
It is another new question.
But I don't see where is the problem. I don't know if we could check/have a
profil for dvd like for x264. Perhaps, it is here the problem.

While I understand this is frustrating, it's not something that is broken in OpenShot. It's most likely a regression in MLT with a newer version of FFmpeg, or it's just an issue with FFmpeg. Either way, there is nothing we can fix in OpenShot, so I am going to mark this as 'Invalid'. This should probably be reported to the MLT developers, with an XML file to reproduce the issue using 'melt'. Thanks.

Like promise to our last meeting to see where this problem (to isolate it) comes from (i.e ffmpeg or mlt), I installed and tried Kdenlive in the same system with the same software installed. Effectively, it seems to be more a problem with MLT than FFmpeg like we were thinking initially. It miss a module for sdl (look the screenshot) need by mlt himself.
Impossible to modified libsdl1.2 choosing another solution than usual.
Well, about Kdenlive is not same displayed !! with this error. We are a bit more lucky with ........... if we could said that.

The solution should be to use the Sunab repository (https://launchpad.net/~sunab/+archive/kdenlive-svn) but MLT is pretty unstable and it is a git version which can be update any time so that 's not a good solution for us until now.

The last version of MLT is out today. It is the 0.7.6 and the problem seems to be resolved. I'll do some complementary tests but the first which have always been a chess is a success even if found the video sometimes with less frames at some passages. (a bit fast).
The audio seems to sync too.

I was forgotting the good command line to resolve this one :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install frei0r-plugins libmlt++3 libmlt-data libmlt4 melt python-mlt3

Agree with you but we can not do something for this one (on the side Openshot Team). The temporary solution comes from MLT Team and in the future of our own framework like stable solution.

Like I explained before, the solution is to upgrade with the last version of MLT.

For the problem of RAM and SWAP, it will be resolved with our own library called libopenshot, one which one we are working since several mouths. When she will be ready, Openshot will have a new and powerful development.

Hello,

I've done and Openshot works fine.

Just a question, should I erase the
https://launchpad.net/~sunab/+archive/kdenlive-release<https://launchpad.net/%7Esunab/+archive/kdenlive-release>repository?

Thank you very much.
Jordi
