I agree, the 'duplicate' on the timeline, should probably only duplicate the exact same title (no copy). And selecting 'duplicate' on the project file tree, should create a copy of the file. That should probably be a separate bug report. If you want to move some code around and fix that, it would be much appreciated.

To submit a patch, I would recommend submitting a bug for each different issue, and then attach your patch to that bug report. That's usually the best way to get it included in the next version of OpenShot. Thanks!
