Bug Description

This bug report is a place holder for people to upload new themes, titles, and blender animations for the upcoming release of OpenShot. Not all will be included (this is very subjective), but this ticket should hold all of the possible submissions. Good luck and thanks for contributing to anyone reading this! =)

Gwen Bulleryahen emailed me the following .blend file. However, I am unsure of the licensing and copyright implications. If anyone wants to research the legality of this .blend, please go ahead. =)

Gwen also emailed me the following link: http://woodyfamilycinema.com/?page_id=12. It contains many famous looking title animations recreated in Blender. I am very interested in including some of them, but again... I'm worried about the licensing and copyright issues.

I think trying to distribute anything with 'Fox' or 'Walt Disney' in the title is likely to lead to a load of trouble! Regarding the link, 1 or 2 look like they could be trouble free (e.g. Clapboard), but none of them seem to have any author information. Have you tried contacting the author of the web page?

Andy, I like the Clapboard animation, but I have not contacted the author yet. Nor do I know who the author is. If anyone can contact them and get permission to included them in OpenShot (under GPLv3 licensing) that would be great!

Andy,
I figured out who the author of the clapboard animation is... Colin Levy, the director of Sintel! I contacted him asking for permission to use the clapboard, as well as a theater animation I found online. Here is his response:

"Absolutely! I'm okay with both .blend files mentioned below being released under that license. I look forward to checking out the next release!

--Colin"

So, there you have it. We have permission to use both of these .blend files. I am going to add them into OpenShot tonight.

The clapboard animation has been added to the trunk. I added some text on top of the clapboard, so people can add a title easily. Also, I added a new "Use Alpha" setting for that template. If Use_Alpha = Yes, it shows the background tracks behind the clapboard, if Use_Alpha = No, it has a black background and some light rays.

Also, I updated all of the Blender animations to work with Blender 2.54 beta (the newest and 2nd beta release). The Python API changed again, so I had to fix all of the blender .py files.

The theater animation (which is really cool) does not work with Blender 2.5, so I'm dropping that for now.

Here is a puzzle transition created by User ("User" on OpenShotUsers.com). I modified it a bit to give it some shades of grey, and soften the edges to make it smoother and more animated looking.

I have added the clapboard, puzzle, and many of the new blender animations. Some of the Blender animations were corrupt, so I was unable to add them. I still have a few more things to do, but most of the work is now done.

I make an animated map of the globe.
A path is traced from the point of departure to destination.
The position of the points of departure and arrival are determined by the geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude). an overview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT63mANjhgk. You find the file blender; odt file explaining the calculations; ods file calculates all changes for the new path (in Table 1, you enter the coordinates of city .in Table 2, you enter the line corresponding to point starting and the line corresponding to the point of arrival). Table 2 gives all the changes has to do file blender.

maps used for the videos can be posted (wikipedia creative commons)
