Bug Description

This is a bug that I can not duplicate consistently so therefore I can not give an example.

It occurs randomly to some clips, if I have a clip that fades in and/or I have effects applied to it, the very first frame gets exported (and also shown in preview playback) without fade or effects applied. It also gets shown on top of other clips that are on top of it (again, just the very first frame so it appears in a fleeting moment during playback).

There is a work around: create a new track and put those problem clips on the new track. I have tried to put together an example for the past 2 hours but I have not been able to duplicate it consistently. It does get rendered though. All the clips I have used are from .mp4 or .mov videos. There does not seem to be any consistency in mixing/matching the two.

For me, it's the first frame that appears at the end of a sequence ... also with audio.
When i apply a fade in or out, a transtion, ... the first video frame or the first audio "frame" is at the top of all.
Then, my video is dirty ... and i will unfortunately change for another software if i can't resolve this issue...

I think this issue, issue #417741 and issue #423550 are the same issue ?
Audio and Video first frames flashing at the end of all sequences ... MLT bug ?

I noticed this bug only at beginning of a sequence and for the first frame.

The sequence has a fast / slow fade effect at start or end, and the first frame is a very bright image the suddenly disappears let starting the correct fade effect.

This behavior destroys the fade effect and is really irritating.

It has happened for now with files .flv or .dv or .mpeg absolutely randomly.

My distro is ubuntu 9.10 amd 64.

Have a nice day!

Workaround:

As just suggested by someone in another thread, if one adds another track just above or under the second sequence and applies fade effect 2 both, everything proceed ok.

Bye!
