Bug Description

I created a video which consists of several video clips successfully. I exported it (Youtube HD high quality settings).

The exported video is totally different from what was previewed. Some clips start from the beginning when they should start from specified position, some start in later position than in preview mode. The length of exported video is longer than it should be (background music ends much earlier than video). Some titles are shown way too late (after other video and audio has ended).

I can provide more information if needed.

Running Openshot 1.1.0 on Ubuntu 9.10.

I tried exporting the same video as ogg theora but with same result.

I can confirm this bug using v1.1.0 on debian squeeze.

I'm using a mpgv file (video only) and a ac3 file (audio only). One on each track. I added a title on a third track before. The preview is fine but the exported file (ogg theora, vorbis) is not.

The timeline :

T3 (title)
|---------|
T2 (video)
       |-------------------------------------------------|
T1 (audio)
       |-------------------------------------------------|

Exported file timeline (guessed from playback) :
T3 (title)
|---------|
T2 (video)
       |-------------------------------------------------|
T1 (audio)
         |-------------------------------------------------|

I'm now working with Openshot 1.2.2 which is the latest in repository.

It seems to work better than 1.1.0, but still suffers from serious issues.

In preview:
 - Some clips play from wrong position in exported video
 - There are white screens between the clips
 - Some clip seems to "rewind" back few seconds suddenly
The editor:
 - When playing video the red progress line looks out of sync with preview video (video comes seconds late sometimes)
 - Crashes very often

Hi,
Just an idea. Change in your Preferences (or Ctrl + P) in the first tab General the Output Mode to sdl_preview.
And retest again the same things.
Thanks.

Changing to sdl_preview does not fix the issue.

Do you use the official version of MLT or the last available (i.e; 0.5.10). If no, you should use the last who could resolve your synchronisation problem ?
Add this PPA if you want to have the last one and inactive it after : sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release
You will find the last version of the Frei0r-plugins and of MLT.
What are your input file ? ( a way to know it better here : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=635)
Strange that Openshot Crashes very often. What have you in the terminal when you launch it with ?

Hello, sorry for delay replying. MLT package versions are:

python-mlt 1.0-3, libmlt++2 0.4.4-2, libmlt-data 0.5.6, libmlt1 0.4.4.
frei0r-plugins is 1.1.22.

The distribution is Maverick, with medibuntu repositoriy. I will install the sunab PPA and test again.

I installed frei0r-plugins i386 1.2-0ubuntu0~sunab~maverick1 and libmlt-data all 0.5.10-0ubuntu0~sunab~maverick1 from the repository, but still the exported video is different.

For example, i have 2 video tracks like this:

T1
        |-------------|
T2
|----------| |----------|

In exported video beginning of T1 looks the same as in preview, but it lasts much longer as it should thus hiding second part of T2.
