I've attached a screenshot of my desktop which shows an OpenShot file with a huge icon (at its original size—I can't reduce its size) alongside a regular folder icon.

affects: firefox (Ubuntu) → openshot

I've found a workaround. Just replaced openshot.svg with png format in /usr/share/pixmaps.

@Olivier: Should this bug be filed under another project? Can you explain why it's invalid? Thanks!

I think that 's more an Unity/Gnome bug than a openshot bug himself. And you are the first. Did you have try the workaround of Andon ?

I have this problem as well. The workaround is good, but it would require having to change the icons manually.

Ok, I applied what I think is a variation on the workaround proposed by Anton:

I soft linked the openshot.svg icon from /usr/share/pixmaps to the icon theme's directory under a /scalable/apps subdirectory. If needed, create the subdirectory with:

$ sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/icons/<theme>/scalable/apps

Then either create a soft link with:
$ sudo ln -s /usr/share/pixmaps/openshot.svg /usr/share/icons/<theme>/scalable/apps

Or copy it:
$ sudo cp /usr/share/pixmaps/openshot.svg /usr/share/icons/<theme>/scalable/apps

That should do it.

Just going to go out on a limb here and suggest that even though it's an SVG; it probably shouldn't default to

width="461.56595"
height="461.56595"

Attached is a 62x62 pixel one, which isn't perfect but a lot more reasonable.

I solved as follows:

1 - Open the image with Inkscape and resized to 128x128;
2 - I exported to .png;
3 - I renamed the openshot.svg image to openshot.svg.bkp in directory: / usr / share / pixmaps /;
4 - I copied the image created with Inkscape to / usr / share / pixmaps / named: openshot.png.

Worked perfectly!
