Bug Description

Linux mint 17 64bit(no updates...something in the updates previously crashed me and I took it all down and reloaded fresh)
AMD A4-6300 on gigabyte F2A58M-HD2 motherboard. 4G 1866mhz ram. 1TB Hitachi 7200rpm drive

I installed by using the install button on the linux mint page. version 1.4.3 and I don't know how to get the other versions yet. Kind of new to linux. Just trying out a few programs that looked easy to load.

I previously loaded lightworks and had a different issue there. Sound was running normal speed on video shot with different camera come to think of it. L14 nikon there and here a Kodak that makes .mov files instead of .avi

Ok I just loaded a .avi and it kind of hops chipmunk audio segments. It's all running faster than it should be...the seconds are going by twice as fast as they should it appears.

Anyway all these videos play find in the 'videos' application loaded for mint 17 as the default player. I was opening / editing these videos in videopad on my windows xp system without a problem ever. For some reason I'm having trouble getting anything to edit vids on this linux system....or at least 0 for 2 so far.
