can't upload jpegs

Bug Description

using the "+" on the program results in a message that "there was an error importing the selected file(s)"
when i try to drag and drop, the wheel spins, but the file doesn't get added
don't know if it's 64 or 32 bit
i'm using the most recent version of Ubuntu Linux
open shot is version 1.4.0, and i don't know even how to respond to your other requests

i had moved one jpg from the place where the program was used to finding it, and when i returned that jpeg to its former location, i was able to upload jpegs.

Update your version of Openshot too. The latest is the 1.4.3 since two
years ago. Think to update your version of MLT. If all works fine, don't
update it.
