app crashes when switching from edit to cut

hi there
32 bit ubuntu 11.04 (the lastest one)
opens shots 1.4.3
installed via software center

if i am running the program for more than 5 mins the app crashes, and sometimes the whole computer freezes.

I can put my finger on exactly what it is that is causing this problem but it seams to be when there are lot of files loaded into the project.

if i am viewing a clip and stop it, then try and change from pointer to cut mode the app become non responsive. If i let the clip finish playing this will crash the whole computer.

I think the problem might be in the previewing of the video. It seems to hang up after pausing the preview.

I've been using just one clip with one title and one transition.
