UI Sandbox - integrate geoserver style/layers with REST API

Thus far we have been adding styles, layers, stores and workspaces to geoserver via the GUI interface. It is preferred to add to geoserver via the REST API.
In this bug we need to:
* investigate and document the GeoServer REST API
* add the Geodetic style to geoserver via the API
* configure the Geodetic layer to used the new Geodetic style
