Very slow as hang

Hi all

Just open the open office , it look like reading from a long file in each move , or opening menus , or scrolling ..

I use it in Arabic with Ubuntu 8.04

slow scroll in OPEN OFFICE CALC and it hang.
I have a table of 9 column 450 rows full with data it is vary slow to scroll in it put whin i convaret the same table to .xls and i open it on M$office it was fine.
My file size 49KB & 150KB .xls

Do you still have this problem with openoffice.org 1:2.4.1~rc2-1ubuntu1 in hardy-proposed? If so can you include the file that is showing the problem?

yes still i tride another linux like freespir it ok the problim on ubuntu

Thanks for the file attachment. Confirmed on upstream's 2.4.0 and ubuntu 1:2.4.1~rc2-1ubuntu1.

Islam Alshaikh إسلام الشيخ thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This issue is unreproducible in LibreOffice Writer via the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/227618/+attachment/305402/+files/FULL%20DASD%20NEW.ods && localc -nologo FULL\ DASD\ NEW.ods

scrolls with no problem. Does this work for you?

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.
