This also prevents OpenOffice from being able to access many webdav servers who filter on the user agent string to determine allowable webdav clients.

I tested this against a webdav server using OOo Writer v3.1.1 and the user agent string delivered by OOo was blank and the server refused to allow access due to the blank user agent string.

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
