Usability Issue: String of tab must be Allowed Companies instead of Companies.

demo database
assigen multicompany to admin
create a new user
try to assign shop 1 to the new user

error
Error occurred while validating the field(s) company_id,company_ids: The chosen company is not in the allowed companies for this user

it works only if "OpenERP S.A." is also assigned - which does not make sens for me.
we must be able to assign users to child companies only.

Hello,

Yes You can easily add the child company to newly created user easily.

You just need to add that company in the list of companies which is the second tab in new user form.

I have attached the screen shot for your reference, So please check it.

I did the same as suggested by you in last comment and able to assign child company to user without adding OpenERP SA.

I have attached the screen shots, Please check it and notify us. And also give me the information like you wanted the thing as one can assign child company to user if it's parent company is only listed inn the list of companies.

I "see" the problem now
company is shown/defined twice
once in the tab "user" - contact
and
once in the tab Companies
and it's not possible to add the "first" company in this tab

I think this is confusing - (at least for me)

it is possible to add one company in the user tab and no company in the companies tab

the demo data comes filled with both - is this required ? if so it is not checked.

Suggestion
please move the "current company" from "user" tab to companies and label the m2m there as "allowed compenies" (or similar) , IMHO this will enhance the usability a lot if all fields related to user/company management are on the same tab.

This was not a bug according to our policy http://doc.openerp.com/v6.0/contribute/11_bug_tracker.html it should have been priority wishlist.

Hi,

   I just installed OpenERP v6.1.

   I'd setup the parent and child company.

   For example : parent Company : A Company
                               child company : Branch A ( which have 1 cash register with 2 users)
                                                             Branch B ( which have 1 cash register with 2 users)

 I'd setup the allowed company for the user according to their Branch.

The problem is when the user login into POS , error came out and cannot do sales on POS.

Not sure whether it's a bug or my setting is not correct.

Can anyone share this if you have this kind of problem.
