fresh install
load language German
set language to German
open module LIST
sort column "Module Bezeichnung"

it is really time to address this issue

it is really embarrassing having to explain clients that OpenERP can not sort correctly.

It's not only in v7, actually, it's there in v6 too. And most likely in earlier versions, too.

Ordering is done by the original term, not the translated one.

Not knowing the v7 code, I quite assume it's still an ORDER BY on the database, where the original terms are mostly english.

And yes, it's very annoying, at least but most likely not limited to german speaking customers :)

Sure - it's done by original English terms - but user do not know this

it's a never ending story
every data field which is not in the db is neither sortable nor searchable

Nice suggestion, we have to sort based on user language not based on en_US.
So consider as a good improvement and setting as a wishlist .

For users it is a big problem !!! - not a wish
