Strange.... :-o :-o .

"Set as default" is a very useful feature for all user including a normal user who don't know about the technical knowledge.

Currently "Set as default" moved on debug part for that we have to allow debug mode.
Normal user doesn't know about the debug mode. If you are making a Usability Improvement then the thing is easy to use not hide good feature for the user.

So As my "Opinion" it should be visible for normal view also not only on debug mode.

For that I have to take the suggestion form community, then after we can take the decision about it.

Thanks and more suggestions are welcomed!

Amit,

You set the 'confirmed' status rightly and your comment #3 says it all.

We recently faced a problem when our end user wanted such a utility to set few values by default on new records.

Non-technical users really need this option on normal mode.

Lets say if they enable debug mode, they would still unwanted unasy debug options which they will never understand.

We recommend to set the option back in normal code.

Thanks.

Take it back please.

If I explain to my end user he should click more than 10 to just set a default value, And click only 10 for full sales process, he will laugh at our PROUDLY usability improvements. Then I will cry.

What is the relation between "setting a default value" and "debugging"?

Hello Amit, i suggest put this over group configuration access, not under debug mode, debug mode actives developers tools and functional users dont needs this.

Set as default is used to configure system in any instance but just users with this access can do it.

If you can improve set default actually needs to many clicks and open a new window to set just *one* field and here user must has the chance to set all allowed fields or do this from the same form but if second way is chosen right click in form can helps.

My 2 cents.

Regards,

Cristian

the group privilege does not address my example - as I said - everyone needs this

the permission to set defaults seems to be context sensitive.
* alarm reminder time -
* accounting
* warehouse

may be the issue could be solved using an additional attribute in group rights (create, read,,,,, set_default)
