jasper module errors on v6

Upon installation of the Jasper Reports module on v6 received the following errors:
System: Fedora 12.

#1 Error on configuration after install.

    register_jasper_report( record['report_name'], record['model'] )
  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/openerp-server/addons/jasper_reports/jasper_report.py", line 235, in register_jasper_report
    if netsvc.service_exist( name ):
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'service_exist'

The menu's still appear.

Note that neither Koo nor the rest of modules of the repository support
OpenERP v6 at the moment.

Hi Albert,

We understand that we may be venturing into uncharted territory with trying
the jasper_reports module on v6. What we're trying to determine is if these
are errors that we can fix - or get fixed relatively easily. We'd like to
use the Jasper Reports capability with v6 - which some of our clients in the
US are using initially versus using v5.0.xx. It's the bleeding edge we know
due to all the errors - but nonetheless we are looking at it.

Are you aware of any other issues or any refactoring that needs to be
completed in the module to have it work with v6?
Or any timeframes you or other's may have looking at jasper/v6
compatability?

Sure. Just to be sure you know it's not been tested/ported yet. Let me know if
you think you can find some resources/fundings to suport that before we can do
that ourselves.

No, sorry. Although I think it won't be a lot of work, we haven't looked at
it.

No again here, sorry. I think we better give no schedules than giving some
unrealistic ones. Contributions are welcomed, however.
