error creation jasper report based on queries with sub report

hello...

 im using jasper_reports addons and created a report using iReport with JDBC connections to my postgresql database with sql query as the datasource. if i use only a master report, its fine to openerp to show. going further on report design and adding a sub report to the master, using a query and paramenters returned from the master report. in iReport there is no problem but when i try to call it from openerp an error occured:

<Fault 0: 'Failed to invoke method execute in class com.nantic.jasperreports.JasperServer: null'>

I've add all the paramenters necessary like: SUBREPORT_DIR or OPENERP_RELATIONS... but with no sucess...

Hello,

i had the same problem. It seems like subreports aren't compiled when using sql based jasper reports.
Besides that, if you compile it manually from iReport obtaining the .jasper file, you get the error you mention (using iReport 4.6.0 as i do).

The work around i have found is to create new objects (jasper report actions) with each subreport as main report. It forces to compile such subreports and then you can put them in place for your main report to work.

I have the same problem with the subreports and master reports.
I put the master report as action in jasper on openerp 7 and do the same thing with my subreport related to the master report, but i have no sucess at all.
Can you explain step by step the moves that i need to create a master report with embebed subreport that openerp 7 accepts and print correctly the report created?
