Bug Description
I have detected that th GTK client under windows crashes when I try to open a Sale order or a Invoice. But this error only happened in a few laptops with Athlon processors, while Intel processors behaved correctly. The crash error referred to the module numpy.core.
I have further investigated and the version of Numpy bundled with the GTK client for Windows software is compiled with SSE3 one, which will cause crashes for example on Athlons.
I have solved it removing the file numpy.core.
I have checked with different versions of the GTK client and all versions behaved equially. Currently I am running the latest stable v5.0.15 without numpy.core.

Carlos Sprekelsen

I noticed the same behaviour as Carlos mentionned in his post, that is: "I have detected that the GTK client under Windows crashes when I try to open a Sale order or a Invoice."
Also, the workaround he suggests - that is removing (or renaming) the file numpy.core. _dotblas. pyd in the directory "C:\Program Files\OpenERP Client" - is sufficient to bypass a crash of the GTK client.
However, I can confirm that this situation also happens on an older desktop with Intel processor. The exact specification of this computer is:
- Dell Optiplex GX150 ("intel inside pentium III")
- 512 mb ram
- Windows 2000 Professional NL
- service pack 4
- Java Virtual Machine
- Flash Player 10
- Adobe Reader
- Open ERP GTK Client 5.0.15 (standalone install)
This might suggest that the crash with the file numpy.core. _dotblas. pvd is not necessarily limited to Athlon processors and that a more fundamental reason will cause the application to crash.
