Hello Dr. Ferdinand,

This is not an error.
It seems like you are having a project with NO tasks.

If tasks,
One of the tasks must have planned hours, state in ('draft','open','progress') and the tasks have the user_id.

If no tasks satisfy the above requirements, you wont be able to print Gantt Representations.

Thank you.

Hmm - it's not me - it's the program saying "Error ...."
if so it should say
"Report only available for open projects with tasks"

Hi,

We can set a generic error message.
If you want a specific message to be displayed, it needs a wizard to be created which checks the records before calling report.

Improved message by revision 1020 <email address hidden>.

Thanks.

I have a project with one task and planned hours, it works if I select only this one,
but not (Error no report) if I select other projects INCLUDING the one with task -

BTW - I think users (at least mine) need a gantt representation for projects also without tasks - It's due to the planning cycle
people create projects - with start / expected end date (target end date of the project regardless of the planned hours etc. ) - no tasks jet, these come later, and in the first phase these will not have planned hours.
so currently we have no working reports supporting the planning cycle, but only one which shows the gantt info if everything is finished. ( which is almost never the case ... during rolling planning)
can you something about this ?

Example: Project "Construction of a Plant" - start + end date are given
Subprojects - aproximate start + end dates are estimated
* Purchase of ground
* Basement
* Walls
* Roof
* Electricity
* Air Condition
* Maschinery
so you can easyly break down a big project in 50 - 100 subprojects which should be represented as Gantt chart - as long as we do not know better.
so for reoprting purpose it would be neccessary to
a) use the planned dates of the projects
b) if tasks are defined - check if the duration of the tasks fits into the time frame of the (sub)project
b1) if does not fit - use the calculated end time instead of the planned end time.
b2) if fit - show the time reserves for each sub project.
