Bug Description
IMHO it would be helpful to get a message like
"Please enter your search criteria and click search"
the empty screen is fast, but a bit confusing if the users is used to the old behaviour

BTW in our old system we had a "hybrid" solution
* small tables - resources are always displayed - may be up to ~20 records
* large tables - user has to enter search and query manually
